'Three-quarters of men wouldn't feel able to openly tell friends they have a problem.'

I provide a safe, impartial, non-judgmental and 'off-the-record' space for men to just talk about what is going on for them right now.

For many men in today's society, navigating who we are, how we are expected to be seen, what we can/can't say & do has become confusing and uncomfortable.

This can be for many reasons - how we were taught to think/be from childhood, familial and societal 'expectations', peer-pressure from mates, internal conflict - or any other reason.

Unfortunately, most of these vulnerable men are advised that they have a 'mental health' problem. I disagree, and firmly believe that they are dealing with an emotional health problem.

From the time we were very young, we were told how and what to feel, and almost definitely what emotions to NOT to feel and express.

This is totally against what we may actually be feeling and needing to share, let alone being totally against our emotional needs as a human. It is no wonder why such a large percentage of men are suffering with their emotional health.

When our emotions are suppressed, it is not just our emotions that are suppressed - it is our very Being.

What do you REALLY need to feel?

Many men feel uncomfortable about sharing their inner-most thoughts, feelings and personal life experiences. Even best mates or work colleagues may not be the easiest to discuss some issues with.  Add to that any reluctance to demonstrate the emotions they are really feeling, and it is no wonder they build walls to 'protect' them.

Feelings of embarrassment, thoughts of being judged as weak, not in control, or not ‘manly’ enough, are just some of the thoughts and fears you may be feeling.

You are not alone!  At the end of the day, what is important is who we are as an individual.

Whilst I love working with all my clients, I recognise that men can feel there can be a 'stigma' with going to any formal of counselling or therapy, especially if it becomes 'on the record'.
